Tech Girls Project
The Tech Girls Programme is targeted at 100 primary school girls and 20 Junior High School Girls.
The main idea behind this programme is to have children and youth recognize the value and importance of STME in today’s world and consider the pursuit of related fields a fun, interesting and rewarding option for their future. It is also to empower them to use ICT skills to improve on their performance in school.
While the 100 Primary Schools Girls are trained on Basic ICT Skills, the 20 Junior High School Girls are trained on Basic Programming and Coding.
The project seeks to:
- strengthen participating girls’ ICT skills;
- increase the girls’ confidence in using ICT tools;
- increase the girls’ awareness about how available ICT tools can be used to acquire knowledge, learn and communicate; and to increase the girls’ interest in continuing ICT education.
