COMMUNICATIONS/SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP

Savana Signatures is offering a non-paid internship to a communications and social media professional.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about writing and looking to contribute their talents to making a positive impact in Ghana.

We are looking for a person who enjoys telling a story that captivates and inspires. You will work with a young but amazing, dedicated team to develop content (articles, stories from the field, short impact stories).
The Communications/Social Media Intern will help to shape the online presence of Savana Signatures and support to develop PR/Marketing products as well as the Monitoring and Evaluation Team.

The Communications/Social Media Intern will help craft a long-term social media plan and calendar, manage our Facebook and Twitter accounts, maintain creative feedback and viral loops between our Facebook Page and Twitter accounts, assist with developing content for the Savana Signatures website and draft press releases.

Most of the Communications/Social Media Intern’s work may be performed remotely but also could work directly from the Tamale or Ho offices of Savana Signatures.

This is an unpaid position, but will give the opportunity to gain experience.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The organisation has a vision of a society where relevant information, knowledge and skills for development are enhanced by equal access to and use of ICT.

Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant shall be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the Ho office of Savana Signatures, procure office supplies, manage office vehicle(s) and office imprest, provide guest relations and protocol services, and plan and coordinate events such as workshops, conferences, seminars and meetings. Specific tasks performed by the job holder are as follows.

 

Major Responsibilities
Office Management and Administration

  • Receive incoming correspondence, review and arrange in priority action for Supervisor’s attention and prepare draft responses. Handle outgoing correspondence according to standard practices and protocol.
  • Take notes and type various documents such as correspondence, memos and reports ensuring spelling and grammatical accuracy.
  • Manage archives, as well as a central filing system for the storage and security of both soft and hard copies of all documents.
  • Record, update and retrieve information, documentation and data from the office filing systems.
  • Prepare and manage a calendar of events for the Ho office.
  • Respond to enquiries, follow-up routine outstanding issues and provide information to Supervisor and staff.
  • Ensure daily cleanliness of the office and premises and the maintenance and prompt repair of office equipment and installations.

Procurement, Petty cash & Vehicle Management.

  • Purchase office supplies and manage their use
  • Manage office petty cash and prepare statement of accounts for timely reimbursement.
  • Facilitate prompt payment to  service providers and vendors
  • Schedule and monitor the movement of office vehicles.
  • Check vehicle   logbooks to ensure that recordings are done correctly.

Guest Relations and Protocol Services

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, answer their enquiries and refer or direct them to the appropriate officer.
  • Keep records of all visitors and callers.
  • Make travel and accommodation arrangements for visiting staff, prepare the necessary documentation and provide the required information and support

Events Planning and Management

  • Plan and coordinate events such as workshops, seminars, conferences and meetings by booking venues, arranging for equipment and providing other logistical support. Assemble documents and other important information for such events.

 

Reports to: The Volta Regional Coordinator

  

Qualification Required & Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum of Diploma in Business Administration or Sec & Management
    •   At least two years working experience in a similar environment

Other Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes)

  • Must be computer literate with an appreciable level in Open Office or Microsoft suites
  • Must  have good  knowledge of office organisation and  procedures as well as basic accounting
    •   Must have good  interpersonal skills
    •   Must  have good command of both written and oral English language
    •   Must be polite, courteous and have a pleasant disposition
    •   Ability to operate basic office equipment such as  projector, scanner and  copier
    •   Ability to work under pressure  and also  meet competing demands
    •   Ability to make independent decisions
    •   Ability to write logical, comprehensive, concise reports and correspondence.
    •   Ability to work in a team

MONITORING, EVALUATION & RESEARCH OFFICER

Job Title:      M & E and Research Officer

 

Job Post:      Ho, Volta Regional Office

 

Reports to:   Executive Director

 

Qualifications: Degree in relevant discipline. Masters’ degree would be an advantage.

 

Experience: This job requires at least 2 years of experience in the development, design and implementation of M&E systems. A candidate with a Research-related experience would have an advantage.

 

Job Summary: The M&E/Research Officer would be responsible for the coordination, design, testing and implementation of M&E systems, tools and activities within all of Savana Signatures’ Programmes and Projects.

 

This job requires the successful candidate to design M&E strategies to be embedded in all programme/project proposals developed by the organization as well as provide technical support to all relevant staff and play a crucial role in conducting research to provide information on the results of the programme as well as liaising with the communications/social media officer to document and disseminate best practices and lessons learned to relevant stakeholders.

 

Key duties include:

  • Plan, design and implement the M&E system for Savana Signatures
  • Provide technical support to all staff by training and assisting field and program staff to interpret data
  • Analyse, maintain and share with all programme teams and relevant stakeholders, a collection of lessons learned, and success stories from various programs and activitiesfor the purpose of learning
  • Liaise with the communications/social media officer to produce regular learning briefs
  • Assists in any other activities as may be directed

 

Skills and abilities required

 

  • Must have an excellent writing and speaking English Language skills
  • Must be a team player and an outgoing personality
  • Must have an excellent computer skills with demonstrable Microsoft Office Excel or Open office Calc skills.

 

Job Location: The successful candidate would work from the Ho, Volta Regional office while overseeing all activities in other regions.
