Digital Marketing Training For Entrepreneurs
Background
In the Northern Region of Ghana, many small and medium enterprises, particularly women-led businesses, continue to face challenges in accessing and using digital platforms to grow their businesses. Limited digital marketing knowledge, weak online visibility, and low confidence in using social media tools often restrict entrepreneurs from reaching wider markets, attracting new customers, and increasing sales.
Recognising the growing importance of digital commerce and online engagement, Savana Signatures organised a free three-day Digital Marketing Training for Entrepreneurs in 2025. The initiative aimed to bridge the digital skills gap by equipping entrepreneurs with practical and affordable digital marketing tools to strengthen their businesses and improve their competitiveness in an increasingly digital economy.
Strategy
The training adopted a practical, hands-on learning approach focused on building the digital capacity of entrepreneurs, especially women operating small and medium enterprises. Over the three-day period, participants engaged in interactive sessions designed to help them establish stronger online business identities, improve customer engagement, and effectively market their products and services using digital platforms.
Participants received training on the use of Facebook, WhatsApp Business, TikTok, and Instagram for business growth. They also learned how to create engaging visual content, develop simple digital campaigns, and utilise free design and productivity tools to support their marketing efforts.
Through peer learning and practical exercises, entrepreneurs drafted sample advertisements, practiced mock customer interactions, and explored low-cost strategies for increasing visibility and boosting sales. The training focused on simple, repeatable actions that participants could immediately apply within their businesses.
Key Highlights
The Digital Marketing Training for Entrepreneurs directly trained 101 entrepreneurs, comprising 87 women and 14 men, while an additional 8,083 people were reached through online engagement, bringing the total reach of the initiative to 8,184 people.
Following the training, many participants reported increased confidence in using digital platforms to market their businesses, engage customers, and expand beyond their immediate communities. Entrepreneurs gained practical skills in setting up professional online business profiles, creating digital content, and leveraging affordable marketing strategies to grow their customer base without overstretching their limited financial resources.
The initiative also contributed to strengthening women’s economic empowerment by enabling women-led businesses to access new market opportunities through digital technology.
The training reinforced Savana Signatures’ commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods through technology-driven capacity building initiatives.
