Savana Signatures

Empowerment for Transformation (E4T)

Year of Implementation: 2022

Background

The Chereponi District in Ghana has faced recurring ethnic conflicts, exacerbating economic and social vulnerabilities, particularly for women. To address this, Savana Signatures, in partnership with the Chereponi District Assembly, launched the Empowerment for Transformation (E4T) Project. The initiative targeted 50 women from Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs), equipping them with tools to mitigate
conflict, strengthen financial resilience, and promote community stability.

Strategy

The project adopted a multi-generational empowerment approach:The project adopted a multi-generational empowerment approach:

  • Women’s Economic  & Peacebuilding Training
  • Girls’ Education & Rights Advocacy
  • Community & Institutional Collaboration

Key Highlights

  •  Improved loan management within VSLA groups, ensuring timely repayments and sustained group cohesion.
  • 50 girls became education advocates, reducing dropout rates among peers.
