The discrepancies in educational enrolment between urban areas and remote under-resourced communities in Ghana can be addressed through legislation and policy for access to inclusive quality education.
Savana Signatures invests in political advocacy and capacity building of stakeholders to support advocacy efforts. Teachers represent a core educational resource that significantly influences learning outcomes, but their deployment remains skewed in favour of urban schools, and they lack knowledge and skills in delivering child-centred active teaching and learning methodologies. We implement diverse initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching and learning to improve the quality of education, such as introducing innovative ICT tools and employing the STAR School Model to improve Teachers’ Professional Development (TPD), assess teaching and learning outcomes, and create gender-sensitive learning environments.
The approach aims to create a safer and responsive learning environment that improves learning outcomes, improves enrolment and persistence through basic school, and promotes inclusive policies and learning environments at all levels of education management and leadership.
