Unemployment and underemployment are a significant challenge in Ghana, especially for the youth, girls, and women in rural areas. Limited access to education and technical skills, as well as a lack of employment options, make it difficult for them to find sustainable livelihoods.
Savana Signatures empowers these groups through market-oriented ICT and technical education, as well as providing social, business, entrepreneurial, and technical skills to increase employability. We work to raise awareness of training and employment opportunities, strengthen vocational training providers, and establish linkages between training institutions and the labour market. Through partnerships with stakeholders, women and young people gain improved business and technical skills and access opportunities to earn a living.
Again, recognising the threat of climate change to all aspects of national development, particularly in rural areas where communities are most vulnerable, Savana Signatures focuses on raising awareness on climate change through traditional and social media. We utilise our innovations in ICT to gather information and provide feedback. We collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies and CSOs, to engage community actors in climate change adaptation practices. This approach helps community members acquire knowledge and cultivate positive attitudes and practices to reduce the negative effects of climate change, leading to increased resilience and community ownership of climate adaptation processes.
